Presentation.

Commissioned by Orchestre d’Harmonie de la Ville de Nevers, to commemorate November 11th, 2018, Armistice centennial.

The First World War has been the first choc of contemporary history, at dawn of 21th century and 3rd millenium. Men created the filthiest horrors to destroy themselves, after a few political maneuvers and royal jealousy.

Testimonies are overwhelming, as people think about the end of humanity, end of the world, total destruction, but, at the same time, being in another reality in which they don’t want to see the facts and reality, they continue to sing, fraternize, love, live.

And what if all of this was a dream? It’s hard to believe in these ignominies… Is this really happening in front of our eyes?

A hundred years after, it’s still hard to believe that we could allow that war to exist. And yet. Testimonies, images, archives, numerous letters of soldiers to their families, the deadly grounds… Then we just think: “Plus jamais ça” (Never again).

Nie wieder Krieg! No more war! Plus jamais de guerre !

Et si ce n’était qu’un rêve… What if it was just a dream…
